Award-Winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi better known as Tems has taken to social media to break her silence after winning the Best African Music Performance award at the 2025 Grammys.
The 67th Grammy Awards took place on Sunday, January 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, USA, despite the recent wildfires that ravaged parts of the city.
She clinched the award with her song Love Me JeJe, surpassing Tomorrow by Yemi Alade, MMS by Asake featuring Wizkid, Sensational by Chris Brown featuring Davido and Lojay, and Higher by Burna Boy.
This marks Tems’ second Grammy win. South Africa’s Tyla won the inaugural award in 2024 for her hit Water.
Tems earned three nominations at this year’s Grammys, bringing her career total to eight. She was also nominated for Best Global Music Album (Born in the Wild) and Best R&B Song (Burning).
Taking to her verified pages on Instagram and Twitter today, January 3rd 2025, the excited Tems floored those pages with new photos of herself. She was also captured with her mother and her team. She refers to her self as Child of Grace adding that God is one that did it for her.
In her Instagram post post, Tems wrote; “Child of Grace🏆✨.”
