Superstar Afrobeats singer David Adeleke professionally known as Davido has taking to social media to react to a viral video where King Charles III of England says he makes him love Pidgin English via his song Kante.
King Charles III has praised Nigerian singer Davido, sharing that his music sparked his love for Pidgin English.
The British monarch expressed a keen interest in speaking Pidgin during his next visit to Nigeria. He made this revelation on the newly premiered Apple Music show, The King’s Music Room, on Monday.
During the show, he showcased his diverse musical taste, naming Kante—a track from Davido’s Timeless album featuring Nigerian singer Fave—as one of his favorites.
In his words; “Davido has made me love Pidgin language. I would like to speak it the next time I visit Nigeria. Thanks to Afrobeats, it’s becoming more popular around the world.”
Davido reposted the video via the insta-stories section of his official Instagram page today, March 10th 2025, giving a shout-out to the royal family.
