The President of the Northern Youths has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to popular activist Verydarkman, demanding an apology to the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar. This comes after the activist publicly criticized the Sultan for describing social media as a “terrorist organization.”
It will be recalled that the Sultan had recently referred to social media as a terrorist tool, urging the government to take decisive action against it. His comments sparked widespread reactions, including a strong response from Verydarkman, who called out the revered traditional leader.
The youth leader has now warned that failure to tender an apology within the stipulated time frame could lead to further action from the group.
In response, Verydarkman opposed the Sultan’s stance, highlighting how many individuals have used social media as a force for good. He strongly rejected the call for its regulation, arguing that the platform shouldn’t be condemned because of isolated negative experiences.
He went on to describe the Sultan as being “emotional” about the issue and emphasized that personal encounters with social media should not overshadow its positive impact.
The President of the Arewa Youths has demanded that activist Verydarkman tender a public apology to the Sultan of Sokoto over his recent remarks.
He stressed that the group is giving him a strict 48-hour deadline to comply with the demand.

“My name is ambassador Abdul DanBature, the president of Northern Nigerian youths. I want to quickly call on the attention of Verydarkman based on the comment he did against our father our royal leader the sultan of Sokoto. We want Verydarkman to quickly withdraw his statement and apologize to the sultan of Sokoto and to we the Northern Nigerians are giving Verydarkman 48 hours for him to do that. Thank you.”
