78-year-old veteran juju singer and songwriter, King Sunny Ade, has reportedly been kidnapped by his stepson. This development was revealed by his daughter, Adeniyi Damilola.
Damilola took to her official Instagram page today, April 28th, 2025, to inform the public about the kidnapping.
She boldly disclosed that her father has been unreachable, neither coming online nor answering calls, and alleged that he was kidnapped by his stepson.
She alleged that the stepson, Dayo, who also served as King Sunny Ade’s manager, was responsible for the kidnapping. She further urged the public not to invite her father to any events for now, claiming he is operating under duress.
Damilola called for police intervention, stressing that King Sunny Ade is currently not in control of his finances. The alleged kidnapper, Dayo — who doubles as both manager and stepson — has been identified as Adedayo Adegeye on Facebook.
