A video of a young lady expressing her desire for a man who would give her 200k-300k monthly has surfaced online, sparking a wave of reactions.
While some get married for love and to reproduce, some women see marriage as a poverty alleviation scheme; meaning a way for them to make money in life.
According to lady who earns about N50K monthly, she said she can’t be in a relationship with a broke man because she does not want to suffer again.
The lady disclosed that her purpose of getting married is to marry someone who can foot her bills, stressing that she has to go higher in life and it is a man who can help her to do so,

korede_lagos: Recently, I watched a dating show on an American channel, and not once did any of the ladies say they wanted a man to pay their bills. All the ladies, about 10 of them, boasted about their jobs and how well they were willing to support their man. It’s unfortunate that our own standard here is to look for an innocent man to usurp the roles of our parents. Also disturbing is how many of these grown up ladies live off men, in an era of gender equality. This is saddening.
