WASSCE 2024: “Can I study banking & finance” – Female student who had D7 in English Lang asks Nigerians, photo shows full result

A Nigerian student, Chisom Francisca, sought guidance on social media after checking her West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) result.

Today, August 12th, 2024, the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) via its verified page on the popular microblogging platform X formerly called Twitter announces the release of 2024 results.

The post reads; “The West African Examinations Council is pleased to inform Candidates who sat WASSCE for School Candidates, 2024 that the result has officially been released today, Monday, August 12, 2024. To access the result, log on to https://waecdirect.org

The student, who posted a photo of her result, asked if she could still pursue a degree in banking and finance despite receiving a D7 in English Language.

Chisom Francisca shared her concerns on Facebook, attracting attention from netizens who offered her advice.

Her WASSCE results featured strong grades in subjects like Accounting, Economics, and Mathematics, but a D7 in English Language raised concerns about her eligibility for her chosen course.

Francisca’s full result included a B3 in Commerce, A1 in Accounting, B2 in Marketing, A1 in Economics, B2 in Government, A1 in Civic Education, D7 in English Language, C5 in Igbo, and A1 in Mathematics.

While sharing a photo of her result, Francisca asked;

“Can I study banking and finance with 219 in jamb and the waec result below then change to accounting in second year.”

How to Check the WAEC Results 2024:

1. Checking WAEC Results 2024 Online24:

• Visit the WAEC official results checker website: WAEC result checker. (https://waecdirect.org)

• Enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number in the designated field.

• Enter the 4 digits of your Examination Year eg. 2024

• Select the Type of Examination

• Enter the e-PIN Voucher Number

• Enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your e-PIN

• Click Submit and wait for the results window to come up

2. Via SMS:

• Open your SMS application.

• Send a text message in the following format: WAECExamNoPINExamYear to 32327 (for MTN, Airtel, and Glo users).

Example: WAEC1234567890123456782024. • You will receive your result on your phone. • Follow the instructions within the app to access your result. Note: only MTN, Glo, and Airtel subscribers can actually check their WAEC results using this SMS method. Students can repeat the step if they do not receive your WAEC result via SMS, kindly repeat this step again. SMS charges will be applied when checking your WASSCE result using text messages.

3. WAEC Mobile App:

• Download the WAEC mobile app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
