Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter Temilade Openiyi professionally known as Tems in a latest post raises eyebrows as she dropped a bombshell regarding the global hit song “Wait For You”.
Recall that the track “Wait For You” was a song by American rapper Future where he featured Drake and Tems, the song was released i nthe year 2022.
The track is notable for its heartfelt lyrics about complex relationships and personal struggles, and it samples Tems’ 2020 song “Higher.”
The song “Wait For You” won the Best Melodic Rap Performance during the 2023 Grammy Awards following its massive success and worldwide acceptance by music lovers.
However, in post shared via her verified page on the popular microblogging platform X yesterday, August 25th 2024, Tems said that the correct lyrics in the song is “I won’t wait for you” and not “I will wait for you” which is usually used by many.
Tems wrote; “Maybe now it’s time for me to confess that it was always “I won’t wait for you” but I sang it in a British accent 😩 so it came out as “wun” 😭.”
