Nigerian singer and songwriter, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has received a grand welcome party as he arrived at Benin City for his much-anticipated homecoming concert, coming up on Friday August 30th.

His arrival was captured in a video making the rounds online. It showed when the singer’s plane landed at Benin Airport, touching down in his hometown to a crowd of his excited fans.

Some indigenous people, dressed in their Edo traditional attire, were seen dancing with joy, chanting happily as they approached the ‘Calm Down’ crooner with bouquet of flowers.

Rema, visibly warmed by their warm reception, was thrilled as he expressed their gratitude to them.

The Homecoming concert, set to take place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, has been the talk of the town for weeks with fans eagerly awaiting the opportunity to see their hometown hero perform live. The announcement of his album ‘HEIS’ homecoming show featured the notable appearance of the Edo state governor, Gov. Godwin Obaseki.
