In not only Nigerian entertainment, but also global entertainment, we see a prevalence of cross-dressing, especially for the sake of comedy. But most of the times, we see it, it is usually from men cross-dressing as women.
In fact, here in Nigeria, we have a lot of actors and content creators who have cross dressed as women including big names like Jay Onair, Steve Chuks, Josh2Funny, and more. But what about the times when WOMEN cross dress as MEN? Well, it has also happened and continues to happen.

1. Funke Akindele
Nollywood actress Funke Akindele is no stranger to cross-dressing. In fact, in one of her earliest projects Taiwo Taiwo, Funke Akindele dressed up as a man. But then, in a later more established time in her career, she donned men’s clothing again during an episode of Jenifa’s Diary where the character of Jenifa goes to stop one of her employees Paw Paw from prostituting herself on the street. To do this, the character dressed as a man trying to solicit Paw Paw in a guise to bust her. Here’s the final look:
2. Mary Lazarus
Mary Lazarus is another actress who donned men’s clothing for a movie role. For the movie, Losing Control, Mary Lazarus cross-dressed as a man for a majority of the production and we must say, the look came together quite well.
3. Tonto Dikeh
We all remember very well in 2017 when actress Tonto Dikeh made headlines when she took to Instagram to post pictures and a video montage of herself dressed as a man going to her son’s Father’s Day program. The picture was in celebration of herself and single mothers everywhere who have played the double part of mother and father in their children’s lives. What do you think of the look?

Another actress who has cross-dressed as a man for a movie role is the beautiful Belinda Effah. Belinda got into costume to play the role and we must say, the makeup artiste did a really good job.

One content creator who is popular for her cross-dressing online is funny girl Taaooma who plays male characters in some of her videos. We must say, whenever she does it, the look usually comes together very well. What do you think?
