Recently, Femi Aluko, the CEO of Chowdeck, announced on his official LinkedIn page that the food delivery platform has reached 1 million registered users and achieved N30 billion worth of deliveries in 2024.

Celebrating the latest developments, Chowdeck CEO Femi Aluko utters that when the company kickstarted in the year 2021, they had 319 users in their first month, now the company has 1million users just few weeks to the 3rd birthday of the food-delivery platform.
Apart from being the CEO of Chowdeck, Femi Aluko also serves as the Co-founder and by extension has two other co-founders namely, Lanre Yusuf who serves as Co-founder/COO (Chief Operating Officer) Chowdeck, and Olumide Ojo who serves as Co-Founder/CTO (Chief Technology Officer).
In the LinkedIn post, Femi Aluko showered encomium on his co-founders and his team of 51-200 employees across the country for a job well-done in building the company with him.
Sharing a graphics that show the growth of Chowdeck from 319 users to 1million and a cake to celebrate the development, the CEO Femi Aluko wrote;
“I am beyond thrilled to announce that last week, we crossed 1 Million registered users on Chowdeck. In the same week, we successfully crossed N30 Billion worth of deliveries in 2024 alone.
In less than 3 years we have grown from 319 users in our first month, to over 1M users a few weeks to our third birthday.
To every member of our team that has made this happen, my co-founders – Lanre Yusuf, Olumide Ojo and I are effusively grateful for giving us the opportunity to build this with you.
We are grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve our over 3K businesses, 10k+ riders and now, 1M users in just 8 Nigerian states.

What to know about Chowdeck
Earlier this year, Chowdeck secured $2.5 million in seed funding to boost its operations and support expansion efforts. The funding round, reported by Nairametrics in April, included notable investors such as Y Combinator, Goodwater Capital, FounderX Ventures, and Hoaq Fund. Additionally, influential figures from the global tech and delivery ecosystem, including Rappi co-founders Simon Borrero and Juan Pablo Ortega, and Paystack co-founders Shola Akinlade and Ezra Olubi, participated in the round.
Since launching in October 2021, following the COVID-19 lockdown in Lagos, Chowdeck has rapidly grown into a major player in Nigeria’s food delivery market. It has expanded to eight major cities, including Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, and Port Harcourt, with a fleet of over 3,000 riders. According to the company, its riders earn salaries comparable to senior civil servants in Nigeria, highlighting its contribution to employment.

Femi Aluko graduated from the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the Obafemi Awolowo University in the year 2015. He was the best Graduating Student in Telecommunications option.
Between Oct 2013 – Jun 2014, Femi Aluko was an intern for Field Supports and Project Department of Toptech Engineering Ltd. Between Jun 2013 – Apr 2015, he works as Software Engineer for Softblue Nigeria Limited.
Also, between May 2015 – Apr 2016, Femi Aluko as a Software Developer for Hutbay in Lagos State, Nigeria. From Jun 2016 – Nov 2017, he work as Team Lead for Shopping Internet Services in Lekki, Lagos.
From December 2017 to February 2022, Femi Aluko works in Paystack where he started as Senior Software Enginer and ended as Principal engineer.
