A viral video circulating on social media shows workers from the Ministry of Women Affairs celebrating on Wednesday evening after Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye was dismissed from her role as minister under President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet.

The footage captures their jubilant reactions, reflecting a shared sense of relief or satisfaction with the leadership change.

The celebration raises questions about the internal dynamics within the ministry, highlighting the staff’s sentiments toward Kennedy-Ohanenye’s tenure. Their reactions suggest deeper issues or dissatisfaction during her time in office.

In the clip, workers are seen dancing and shouting in the corridors of their office, with chants of “finally” echoing as they celebrated the minister’s exit.

Kennedy-Ohanenye oversaw the Ministry of Women Affairs until her removal by President Tinubu on Wednesday as part of a cabinet reshuffle. She was one of six ministers dismissed during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

The others include Prof. Tahir Mamman, (Education), Mohammad Gwarzo (State for Housing), Jamila Ibrahim (Youth Development), Lola Ade-John (Tourism) and the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu, who has been replaced even though the government was silent on her status.
