Nigerian media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, has weighed in on the ongoing debate about gay relationships in the entertainment industry, further intensifying an already heated discussion.
The Nigerian social media scene was set ablaze after the controversial blog Gistlover made shocking claims, naming male celebrities allegedly involved in same-gender relationships.
These revelations surfaced alongside the controversy surrounding crossdresser Bobrisky’s release from jail, a drama that had already stirred public attention.
As the rumors intensified, Daddy Freeze, known for tackling controversial topics, chimed in with his perspective. In a bold Facebook video, he openly corroborated the anonymous claims making waves online.
Daddy Freeze introduced the coded term “Agege” to describe the alleged lifestyle of many Nigerian celebrities, using it as a euphemism to hint at the private lives of these stars.
He further claimed that several celebrities engage in same-gender relationships, not necessarily out of personal preference, but as a strategic move to boost their careers and gain influence in the highly competitive entertainment industry.
Daddy Freeze went on to claim that some of these celebrities are married, and even more controversially, their spouses are reportedly aware of their partners’ extracurricular activities. This revelation added another layer of scandal to the ongoing conversation, stirring further reactions online.
In his words; “Sometimes, na Agege connect! You know what I’m talking about. Many celebs dey do Agege so that album go fit sell, so that dem go fit get that feature, dey that movie, dey that caucus! Go and listen to that song by Red Hot Chilli Peppers! Go and listen to the words so that you will understand what people do to be part of the creme de la creme inside the society!

They want their wives to drive the nicest cars, they want to always make sure that their wives fly business class, they want to make sure that their children have the best and then they go and sell their soul.
“So many men, their wives know that their husband dey do the Agege and they and their wife don talk am.
