Popular social media critic Daniel Regha has shared his opinions on award-winning Nigerian artist Asake’s new look.

Asake, whose real name is Ahmed Ololade, sparked controversy on his social media page yesterday, January 12, as he debuted his new facial tattoos while teasing his new song, ‘Why Love’, drawing comparisons with American rapper Kodak Black.

Famous for his signature dreadlocks and subtle tattoos, the 29-year-old singer has adopted a bold new look, showcasing eye-catching face tattoos and a neatly styled haircut.

Asake’s new look comes shortly after reports surfaced about his departure from indigenous Nigerian rapper Olamide’s record label, YBNL.

His facial tattoos captured attentions from his fans and online community, as many expressed their admirations while some berated the artiste.

Daniel Regha, commenting on Asake’s debut look, took to his X handle to express concern that Asake’s facial tattoos are leading him astray, adding that they have negatively impacted his appearance.

He revealed that the inspiration behind Asake’s tattoos could be linked to enhancing his ‘bad guy’ image for showbiz purposes.

Daniel Regha wrote, “Asake new facial tattoos are incredibly ug!y, & !sn’t marketable. This may be a way to up his b@d guy image for the sake of showbiz, but it makes him looks s!ckly. The tattoos might end up being a regrettab’e decision. He’s slowly going astray.”
