Alex Elvasam, the fish pie seller who went viral for his melodious voice, has opened up on his financial struggles and disappointments from failed promises.
Recall that Alex Elvasam gained attention from the online community after a video showcasing how he excellently hawks his snacks with his voice. The video, which quickly went viral, attracted good Samaritans to him. His newfound fame led to an outpouring of support, including promises of financial gifts, a car, and a shop.
In August 2024, popular content creator Nons Miraj rented an apartment for the fish pie seller with N200k. A TikToker also gifted him the sum of N3 million.
However, in a recent interview, Alex revealed that none of the monetary gifts reached him. He expressed that he is passing through a lot and can barely feed for himself.
Speaking about his partnership with a brand identified as Eko, he revealed that he was not so good with making people laugh, stating that he knows cooking and catering better.
In his words, “I am going through a lot, everyone has used me to make money, I don’t have anything and I can barely feed myself.”
