Isabella Idibia, the eldest daughter of popular Nigerian singer 2Baba and Annie Idibia has taken to social media to react as her parents separate from each other.
Yesterday evening, January 26th 2025, singer 2Baba left many tongues wagging as he announced via his Instagram page that he and wife Annie had been separated for a while and by extension they are awaiting divorce.
In a follow up post, he revealed his Instagram account had been hacked and efforts were being made to restore it. However, not long after that, he made a video, clarifying that his account had not been hacked and he made the post himself.
In his post, the African Queen singer revealed that he and Annie had been separated for some time. He promised to release an official statement soon to share his side of the story and address the press. While emphasizing that his personal life is private, he expressed a need to provide clarity out of respect and love for his supporters.
In his words; “Hello to my beautiful people of all FEDERATIONS. WELL THIS THING I HAVE TO SAY IS SHORT BUT ALSO LONG…. I AND ANNIE MACAULAY HAVE BEEN SEPARATED FOR A WHILE NOW. AND CURRENTLY FILED DIVORCE… “I WOULD GRANT A PRESS RELEASE SOON TO SAY MY STORY..NOT BECAUSE IT IS ANYONE’S RIGHT TO KNOW ABOUT MY PERSONAL LIFE; BUT BECAUSE I LOVE MY PEOPLE AND I NEED THEM TO KNOW MY INNOCENCE OR OFFENSE. STAY BLESSED MY PEOPLE. I LOVE YOU ALL”
In another Instagram video, 2Baba stressed that his divorce announcement was legal and that his account was not hacked. He said: “Hey, my people, nobody hacked my account; I said what I said. I come in peace.”
Seeing her father’s video on the crisis, Isabella took to Instagram to like his post.
The teenager’s new Instagram handle, @isabelidibiaaa was spotted among those who reacted to the post, seemingly acknowledging her father’s confirmation of the separation. A quick check on her page confirmed that she has posted pictures of herself with her father and her brothers but none of her mother Annie Idibia.

2Baba and Annie’s relationship reportedly began in 1999 as a friendship that later blossomed into love. Annie gained widespread recognition after featuring in 2Baba’s iconic African Queen music video in 2004. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Isabella, in 2008.
