2Baba took to his Instagram page yesterday January 26th, 2025, and by extension announced the end of his 13-year marriage with wife Annie Idibia, stressing that he is waiting for the divorce papers to be served.
2Baba wrote in his post, “Hello to my beautiful people of all Federations. Well, this thing I have to say is short but also long. I and Annie Macaulay have been separated for a while now and currently filed for divorce. I would grant a press release soon to say my story, not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life; but because I love my people and I need them to know my innocence or offense. Stay blessed my people. I love you all.”
However, the divorce announcement has triggered reactions across social media, with many Nigerians picking sides while showing support to both parties.
An X user, Pharaoh revealed how he burst into tears upon hearing 2Baba’s divorce. He state that he took a sick leave to recover from the heartbreaking news.
He wrote, “I just called in sick because 2face and Annie are getting a divorce and it has affected me so much. Lmao why am i crying, Emeka dear you will be fine.😭.”
