Popular journalist and founder of radio station Agidigbo FM, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat has once again demonstrated his generosity as he returned to Agodi Prison just two weeks after regaining his freedom.
In a heartwarming gesture, the journalist stormed the correctional facility to distribute food and drinks to inmates, earning praise from many Nigerians.
Oriyomi Hamzat, who was recently released after spending time at Agodi Prison, surprised many by voluntarily revisiting the facility. In a video making the rounds online, Oriyomi was seen engaging the prison wardens as he handed out wads of N1k cash to them.
The video showed a Hilux Jeep loaded with large bags filled with packs of rice and several cartons of drinks.
In the clip, a crowd gathered around him, cheering and showering him with praise.
Recall that Oriyomi Hamzat regained freedom from Agodi prison after involved in a tragic incident in Ibadan, Oyo State. A stampede occurred during a Christmas funfair at Islamic High School in Bashorun, resulting in the deaths of 35 children and injuries to six others. Hamzat, along with Naomi Silekunola, the ex-wife of the Ooni of Ife, and Abdullahi Fasasi, the principal of Islamic High School, were arraigned in connection with the incident.
His return to Agodi correctional service triggered massive reactions as social media users shared their thoughts via the comment section. Some reactions are shown below:
