Nollywood actor and filmmaker Yul Edochie has publicly backed Afrobeats legend Innocent “2Baba” Idibia amid intense scrutiny over his troubled marriage to Annie Idibia.
No stranger to controversy himself, Yul fiercely defended 2Baba, condemning critics and igniting heated debates online.
For nearly three years, Yul has faced relentless public backlash following his high-profile cheating scandal, which shattered the once-admired image of his marriage to May Edochie.
The actor’s affair with his colleague-turned-only-wife, Judy Austin, sent shockwaves across social media, making him a major target for criticism.
To this day, Yul and Judy remain frequent targets of criticism, especially after May boldly chose to separate from him.
Now, as 2Baba faces his own marital turmoil, Yul seems to see a kindred spirit in the embattled musician.
The “African Queen” crooner, whose 13-year marriage to Annie Idibia was marred by controversies—including infidelity rumors and public emotional breakdowns—recently revealed that their union had quietly ended. He confirmed they had been separated for a while, with divorce now imminent.
The news sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, with fans and celebrities criticizing 2Baba for failing to uphold his vows to Annie, despite their years of struggles.
But Yul Edochie wasn’t having it. On January 31st, he took to social media with a fiery rant, fiercely defending 2Baba while cursing those condemning him.
In a no-holds-barred post, Yul lashed out at critics, questioning their moral authority to judge another man’s marriage.
Yul Edochie wrote; “Anybody insulting 2Baba or calling him out bcos of his family matter wey no concern you, THUNDER FIRE YOU!!!”
