A throwback video that shows the moment Lil Kesh and Asake linked up with each other for the first time has surfaced online and by extension stirred several reactions online.

The clip making the rounds online featured the moment Lil Kesh meets Asake for the first time in the year 2020 at the studio of popular Nigerian music producer turned singer Young John.

At that time, Asake had yet to rise to prominence in the Nigerian music industry, while Lil Kesh, an ex-YBNL artist, was already a household name with several hit songs to his credit.

Lil Kesh was in the other room when he heard Young John playing Asake’s song in the year 2020. He came out to express how much he loves the song and then started singing to it.

He exchanged a handshake with Asake, and Lil Kesh later mentioned to Asake that he also goes by the name “Ololade.” Asake responded that he was already aware of this, highlighting how popular Lil Kesh once was.

Lil Kesh in the 2020 video said; “Nice to meet you mehn, I love that song, my name is Ololade you know”

Asake interjected; “Yes, yes, i know.”

Lil Kesh added; “You wrote the song for me.”

Asake in the clip later busted into a huge laughter with others including Lil Kesh and the video fades.

Fast forward to 2024, Asake, now signed to YBNL, has joined the ranks of a few Nigerian artists with billions of streams on Spotify. He already has three hit albums to his name and is set to shut down the 20,000-capacity O2 Arena for the second time.

However, the way Lil Kesh was so humbled in the year 2020 when he met Asake who was still struggling to make a name in the Nigerian music industry has got many people talking online.
