Superstar Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke professionally known as Davido has left his fans in an highly anticipation mood as he officially reveals the name of his 5th studio album.
Davido, the “DMW” boss took to his verified page on the photo and video sharing platform Instagram today, December 5th 2024 to share the development to all and sundry.
Recall that Davido’s fourth studio album known as “Timeless” which was released on March 31st 2024 turned out to be his biggest album so far. Davido recently surpassed 2 billion Spotify streams, driven by the success of his Grammy-nominated hit Unavailable featuring Musa Keys, which has exceeded 159 million streams.
Davido’s ‘Timeless’ dominates as the album with the biggest first-week streams in Nigeria, topping the chart with an impressive 33,600 units sold and 50.1 million streams. Hot on his heels is Wizkid’s Morayo, boasting 32,450 units sold and 48.6 million streams, highlighting the star power of these two giants.
Asake continues his streak with three entries: MMWTV (29,000 units, 43.6M streams), Lungu Boy (28,330 units, 42.5M streams), and Work of Art (25,400 units, 38.1M streams), solidifying his reputation for consistency and audience appeal.
Burna Boy’s Love, Damini completes the list with 25,533 units sold and 38.3 million streams, reaffirming his global dominance.
However, Davido in his new Instagram post today said that the the name of his 5th studio album is 5IVE stressing that the project is straight from his heart.
Davido further stated that he will be releasing a new song in the midnight titled “Funds” featuring rapper Odumodublvck and singer Chike.
He wrote; “My People!
