Nigerian award-winning superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has marked his late mother, Veronica Adeleke’s, posthumous birthday with an emotional tribute.

This heartfelt tribute aligns with the singer’s 32nd birthday a milestone celebrated globally by fans as a testament to Afrobeats’ growing influence.

Davido’s late mom died in 2003 at age 39. Today would have marked her 61st birthday. Veronica Adeleke was a prominent Nigerian singer and university lecturer, widely recognized as the wife of billionaire Adedeji Adeleke. Before her passing in 2003, she served as a lecturer at Babcock University in Ilishan-Remo, Nigeria. Veronica also made her mark in music by founding David’s Band, which released several tracks.

Davido took to the microblogging platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to wish his mother a happy birthday, expressing his deep love for her and how much he misses her.

He wrote, “Happy birthday Mommy. Love and miss you.”
