A video recently surfaced online that shows the moment Wizkid colleague during University days was seen calling the singer name at an event, sparking widespread reactions online.
In the video, Wizkid was about the climb the stage for an event in Lagos State, Nigeria when the colleague could be heard calling Wizkid name and trying to introduce himself at the same time so as to get his attention.
Recall that Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, attended Ijebu Ode Grammar School for his secondary education. He later enrolled at Lagos State University (LASU) but dropped out. He then briefly attended Lead City University but left after two sessions to focus on his music career.
In the clip shared on Instagram by popular blog Wizkidgirlfriend, Wizkid was spotted with the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka among other heavy securities as he was about to perform when the Uni colleague was calling the singer.
Note that Wizkid delivered an electrifying performance at the Greater Lagos Countdown 2025, held at the iconic Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos. The event, organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, featured a star-studded lineup, including Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Niniola, Olamide, Adewale Ayuba, Runtown, BNXN, 9ice, and Seyi Vibez.
In the video, the Wizkid Uni colleague could be heard reportedly saying “Deji, this is Dare Akapo of sociology.”
However, Wizkid attention was not captured as the singer’s attention was to perform on stage to the delight of his fans which he did effortlessly.
