A woman was left heartbroken after returning from abroad to find that her husband had married someone else.
She had spent five years living and working in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to journalist and fact-checker Gabriel Buule, who shared the story on X, the woman, identified as Rachel, worked as a housemaid.
Gabriel revealed that while living in Dubai, Rachel worked hard and sent money home to her husband to build their house.
However, upon her return, he threw her out and replaced her with another woman. Despite having two children with him, she has been denied access to them.
The viral story on X reads; “This young woman worked as a housemaid in Dubai for five years, and she kept sending money to her husband to build a house . Upon return, the man married a different woman and chased her away. Rachel needs our help. Recho tells me that she wants, @PoliceUg or anyone to force the man to at least refund part of the money and also have access top her two children.”

@WakoJoel: I believe the problem with hiring companies is that they do not train the workers they send abroad on financial independence. Additionally, many of those who go to work overseas either do not stay informed about current affairs, missing stories of others who have been conned, including their own family members, or are simply too excited about the opportunity to travel and work abroad. Some return home only to find that the projects they were funding do not exist or those they were sending money too mismanaged or ‘eat it’, leading to devastating consequences, including cases of suicide.
