Renowned music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has received backlashes from social media users after announcing his plans to host an exclusive party at a popular Paris club, ‘Fabulous Paris’, on October 20th 2024.
This is coming just weeks after his industry rival Wizkid hosted listening party for his music ‘Piece of my heart’ off his sixth studio album, ‘Morayo’, at the same event.
On September 29th, Wizkid was seen with his friend and Disc Jockey DJ Tunez, captivating his fans and audiences with preview of ‘Piece of my heart’ track featuring Brent Faiyaz, for them.
However, a promotional video ahead of Davido’s performance at the nightclub has since circulated on social media.
This has sparked a wave of reactions online, with fans drawing comparisons between the two Afrobeats giants and accusing Davido of trying to copying Wizkid’s moves.
Following the announcement, social media platforms erupted with divided opinions. Fans of Wizkid, known as Wizkid FC, were quick to slam Davido, accusing him of copying Wizkid’s style and trying to capitalize on his rival’s success. Some reactions are shown below:
