Popular indigenous rapper Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji, aka Oladips, has claimed that Nigerian singer Wizkid sampled his lyrics in Asake’s hit song ‘MMS’ (Mr Money Sound) featuring Wizkid.
Oladips, a well-known figure in the Nigerian rap scene, claims that a portion of his lyrics was used without permission in the chart-topping song ‘MMS’.
The song, which features the iconic duo of Asake and Wizkid has been making waves across streaming platforms and airwaves. However, Oladips believes that his lyrics was appropriated, leading him to voice his concerns publicly.
Taking to his Instagram page, Oladips shared a side-by-side comparison of his original lyrics of his song ‘Ajala Travel’ with those in “MMS,” pointing out the similarities.
In a screenshot showing the lyrics of ‘Ajala Travel’, it reads, “I had to lose myself to find my purpose’ while in ‘MMS’, it reads, “Lost myself and I found my purpose”.
