Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actress, Sonola Oluwafunmilayo has told the tragic tale of how she lost her son a month before he graduated.

Speaking in an emotional interview with FeelRightNews TV, she described the experience as the saddest moment of her acting career, expressing how deeply the loss has affected her.

According to her, she had dedicated years of hard work to securing a better future for her son, only for tragedy to strike at the most unexpected moment.

Sonola recounted how she made countless sacrifices to ensure her son received a good education. Despite the challenges that came with the acting profession, she remained focused on her goal of giving him the best opportunities in life.

However, just before she could witness that joyful moment, she was met with an unimaginable loss.

Her pain was further deepened by the fact that she did everything within her power to save him when he suddenly fell ill. Even though he was not sick before, he developed a strange condition on the day of the incident.

In a desperate attempt to save his life, she spent more money taking him to various hospitals and treatment centers. Unfortunately, despite all efforts, he did not survive.

She said: “You know, man proposes, but God disposes. I can say with my full chest that all the money I made from this acting career was what I used to send my son to school. A month before he was supposed to graduate and serve, he died and was brought home.

He wasn’t sick. He even called me on the day the incident happened, and his girlfriend also spoke with him that day. But around 2 p.m. on Sunday, when the incident occurred, he said something entered his body. He was taken to several places for treatment, but in the end, he did not survive.”
