Seasoned Nollywood actress Mama Ereko, who is most known for her work in Yoruba films, said why she decided against getting married again: to maintain her beauty and escape the burden that comes with marriage After her husband passed away.
In a recent interview on Talk2dunnis TV’s official YouTube channel, Mama Ereko, whose real name is Morenike Alausa Sulaimon, stated that staying single has helped her maintain her beauty and elegance despite her age.
According to her, the stress of marriage and intimacy can make a woman look older than her actual age.
“If I had remarried, you wouldn’t be praising me for still looking elegant and beautiful at my age. I didn’t remarry because the stress of having intercourse makes you look older than your age,” she said.
The actress further explained that she has become so independent that she no longer sees the need for a man in her life. Having taken on many responsibilities herself, she believes she has become both a father and mother to her children, making marriage unnecessary.
“I’m already a man, so I don’t need a man again because I don’t even remember how it feels to have intercourse with a man,” she added.
Reflecting on her past experience, Mama Ereko shared how her late husband frequently disrespected their union by bringing other women into their home.
“Whenever my husband sees a lady he likes, he usually sends me on an errand so he could bring her home. There was one particular incident that happened one day. Among the many girls my husband moves around with, he brought one home to sleep with her. I got angry, but I dared not challenge him,” she revealed in the emotional interview.
