Veteran Nollywood actress Ini Edo has opened up on how life dealt with her as a woman during the ongoing reality show Young, Famous & African (YFA).

The mother of one, who was recently added to the YFA cast, revealed that she has suffered over six miscarriages and undergone countless IVF procedures, but none have resulted in a successful pregnancy.

According to Ini Edo, she got married at the age of 26 because she wanted to be done with childbearing at 31 years old, but life did not work out that way for her

In her words, “I got married at the age of 26 because I thought that at 31 I would be done with childbearing, I will retire and face my career but life didn’t pan out that way. I tried; I have had over six miscarriages; I don’t like to go into it. It was not a fancy way out for me.”

“I have tried, I have done IVFs, I have lost it midway through. I know what I have dealt with as a woman.”

It is worth noting that in 2008, Ini Edo tied the knot with Philip Ehiagwina, a businessman based in the United States. However, the marriage ended in September 2014 after six years. In 2021, the 42-year-old actress welcomed her first child, a daughter, through surrogacy.
