Grammy Award-winning artist, Damini Ogulu Ebunoluwa, popularly known as Burna Boy, has shed more light on his action at a recent concert in Lagos.
Burna Boy, who performed at the recently concluded Greater Lagos Countdown 2025, became a trending conversation online following his reactions after a fan broke through security and rushed toward Burna Boy on stage.
A viral video capturing the incident shows the moment the singer abruptly stopped his performance and exited the stage leaving the crowd stunned.
The event has since sparked a heated debate online, with netizens expressing mixed reactions to Burna Boy’s response. While some argue his safety concerns were justified, others believe the reaction overshadowed the essence of the celebration.
However, Burna Boy took to his Instagram story as he shared reasons he left the stage angrily.
He conveyed the fear he felt after a fan’s sudden and unexpected action, stating that he has Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He then, wished his fans a happy new year.
He wrote, “It was a free show, I was supposed to do 10 mins and did almost an hour. Everybody knows my rule about getting on stage and startling me when I’m performing. I had an amazing time with Lagos State last night. Don’t jump on my stage like that. I’ve got PTSD. I love you all. Happy New Year.”
