Controversial online activist Vincent Martins Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman, has finally admitted that the missing N180 million allegedly stolen by hackers was a prank.

He made this known in a video shared on his official Instagram page, saying he pulled off the stunt just to show that 80% of people on social media are dumb.

VDM clarified that no money was missing and that the cash remained secure in his account. He admitted to intentionally raising the false alarm to demonstrate how gullible people on social media can be.

In his words, “80% of the people that use social media are dumb, and the whole thing that happened with the N180 million is a clear opportunity to show you. I deliberately did it to just show you people that you are stupid. No money is missing; my money is secured.”

“The way people are so excited about bad is really sad. I told my website guy, shut the website, let us use these people catch cruise. Nobody bothered to ask for evidence. They just went with what is being said. I am so happy I did this.”

In another post, Verydarkman shared a video of himself at Zenith Bank, where he saved the NGO funds, revealing that the money is still intact. While sharing his account statement, he bragged that he is the only Nigerian with his integrity.

He captioned the clip, “Here is the statement of account….Nobody in this country can brag with the integrity I brag with,I AM THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN DO THIS…..VDM no get mate….i challenge any NGO TO DO THIS.”
