Nigerian dancer and influencer, Idowu Smart Emmanuel, professionally known as Lil Smart has once again made headlines over a viral video of his mother tearfully begging for his release from detention.
Recall that the Nigerian police force confirmed the arrest of Lil Smart with charges of cyberbullying and allegations against his former record label boss Naira Marley.
Lil Smart accused Naira Marley and his associates of kidnapping, assaulting, and robbing him of $300. He also alleged that the controversial singer bribed Lagos police officers to evade justice and framed him in a credit card fraud scheme.
However, Lil Smart later made a U-turn as he released a written statement retracting all his accusations, admitting that his claims were false and lacked evidence.
In a tearful video shared online, Lil Smart’s mother lamented her helplessness at the detainment of her son. She stated she was a single mother with no one to turn to for her son’s release. She then begged Nigerians to help her out.
In her words, “Nigerians Please help me. I am the biological mother of Lil Smart that was arrested. Please help me. I don’t have anybody. I am a single mother”
