Wunmi Aloba has recounted the final moments of her late husband, Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, in a recent interview with TVC’s Your View Show.
Mohbad’s widow claimed that her husband reacted negatively after receiving injections from a nurse who was called in to treat his wounds.
Wunmi stated that the nurse arrived while she was in the kitchen preparing food for their son Liam’s five-month celebration. She explained that she followed the nurse upstairs, where Mohbad was treated in the master bedroom since Liam’s room was too small.
According to Mohbad’s wife, the nurse proceeded to administer the first and second injections. However, after receiving the third, he suddenly asked her to stop, saying he needed to throw up and use the restroom.
She revealed that she held his hand and guided him to the restroom, where he vomited and relieved himself. As they were returning, he collapsed and began screaming for water, complaining that his heart felt hot.
They quickly poured water on him, but he continued to say he felt an intense heat from within. He requested air conditioning, and despite moving him to Liam’s room where there was AC, his discomfort persisted.
As his condition worsened, they sought help from a neighbor since his car was faulty. Due to heavy traffic, they had to transport him on a bike to the hospital. Upon arrival, the doctor examined him and delivered the devastating news—he was already gone.
In her words, “The nurse came at around 2pm. I was in the kitchen cooking for Liam’s 5th month while my husband was upstairs. The nurse went upstairs and I followed her. She couldn’t attend to him in Liam’s room because the room was small so we moved to The Masters bedroom. The nurse examined the wounded part and I told her my hubby was an ulcer patient so she should be mindful of what she would give him. I asked her about the injection she wanted to give him and she said tetanus and co. She first gave him the first and second injections. When she gave the third, he told the nurse to take it out that he wanted to throw up and pee. I held his hand to the restroom where he threw up and peed.”
“As we were coming back, he fell and started screaming for water. He said his heart was hot. We poured him water and he said he wanted AC. He said he was feeling hot from inside and he started having goose bumps and kept on throwing up so we carried him to Liam’s room cos there was AC there. Still he wasn’t feeling comfortable so we called on the neighbor to help us carry him to the hospital because his car was faulty. There was traffic on the way so we had to put him on the bike. When we got to the hospital, the doctor told us he was dead.”
