Nollywood star Adams Kehinde, a.k.a. Lege Miami, has sent a message to landlords, cautioning men against sending their wives abroad.
He warned landlords to start constructing stores and warehouses in addition to homes so that they can be used as mini-marts and supermarkets for women in a video posted on his Instagram page.
According to him, men are no longer taking their wives overseas, as once they get married, they open a supermarket for their wives and gift them any car of their choice, if they are financially buoyant. He slammed those who were still planning to take their wives abroad, telling them that they would end up weeping.
“Landlords in the neighborhood, we need you to start building shops along with the houses you are building. Shops and warehouses, which can be used as big supermarkets and mini-marts for women at home. We are no longer taking our women overseas. Once they get married, they aren’t going abroad again. We would open a big supermarket for you, any car you want, your husband will buy it for you. Those of you who are saving to take your wife overseas will end up crying. So landlords, help us to build shops”.
His statement didn’t sit right with many, who found his statement misogynistic.
