The Headies, Nigeria’s premier music awards, has ignited the industry with the unveiling of its highly anticipated 17th edition nominations.
Topping the list is genre-defying artist Tochukwu Ojogwu, aka Odumodublvck, leading with five nominations.
Close behind are the versatile Ayra Starr and street-hop star Shallipopi, each earning three nods.
Odumodublvck’s versatility takes center stage as he secures two nominations in the highly competitive Best Collaboration category, competing against industry heavyweights like Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Zlatan, Asa, and Chike.
The Headies Next Rated prize has long been one of the most anticipated and fiercely contested categories.
This year, the competition remains intense, with Odumodublvck, Shallipopi, Ayo Maff, Qing Madi, and Nasboi vying for the coveted award.
A poignant highlight of this year’s nominations is the late Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, whose legacy endures. Despite his tragic passing on September 12, 2023, his music continues to resonate, earning him three posthumous nominations.
