Wunmi Aloba, the wife of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad, has made a shocking claims against her father-in-law while she finally spoke about the tragic death of her husband.
Wunmi, in her first interview with popular journalist Chude since Mohbad’s death, claimed that her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, destroyed crucial evidence related to the singer’s cause of death.
Recall that Mohbad, former Marlian signee, passed away in September 12th 2023, under controversial circumstances. Prior to his death, Mohbad reportedly sustained injuries due to a physical fight with his friend Prime Boy and was rushed home. It was gathered that he fell ill after being injected by an Auxiliary nurse, leading to his sudden death.
He was hastily buried the day after his death by his father, raising suspicions. Authorities later exhumed his body for an autopsy, which came out inconclusive.
The Nigerian police launched an investigation, questioning key individuals, including Naira Marley and Sam Larry, who were accused of harassing him.
In the interview, Wunmi revealed that his father-in-law asked the nurse to go despite Mohbad’s management effort to get her arrested. According to Mohbad’s widow, she knew her husband reacted to an injection administered to him.
She also stated that she was not informed about her husband’s burial and only found out about it online. She added that on the day of the burial, an attempt was made to kidnap her son, Liam. In a desperate move to protect him, she had to conceal him inside a nylon bag to help him escape.
In her words, “I knew that there is a Nurse involved in this case. He reacted to injection. The night my husband died, my father-in-law came into the house. The nurse explained everything to him. My husband’s management wanted to get her arrested but my father-in-law asked her to go. He said he has nothing to do with her.”
“Everybody begged him not to bury him. The day they were going to bury Mohbad, they didn’t inform me. I got to know online. On the day of my husband’s burial. He and his female friend tried to kidnap Liam. We had to make him escape by putting him inside Nylon. The fact that the autospy results came out inconclusive was somehow to me. He had an injury during his fight with his friend, ‘Prime Boy.” My husband was fine before the nurse came in although he had injury.”
“The autopsy result was inconclusive because my father-in-law quickly buried him because his body had decomposed and the tissue needed was not there.”
