Controversial Nigerian journalist Kemi Olunloyo has sparked widespread conversation with a heartfelt and unsettling reaction to the death of her father, Victor Omololu Olunloyo, a former governor of Oyo State.
In a series of emotional TikTok posts, Kemi made serious allegations against the late politician, claiming he was responsible for deep psychological harm to her and her siblings.
Known for her unapologetic and often divisive public statements, Kemi distanced herself from the Olunloyo family, expressing strong disapproval of the positive tributes being paid to her father in the media.
She accused him of both physical and emotional abuse, recounting a particularly disturbing event involving her younger brother, Gbenga.
“A teacher once reported my 12-year-old brother to Daddy for stealing in school. Dad hung him on the ceiling fan, beat him heavily and switched the fan on,” she claimed.
In another report, she described how their father burned Gbenga’s back with a heated iron due to a minor claim. “The scars are still present even now. He will tell that story to his kids,” she said.
She also alleged that the late governor brought two of her brothers to a ritualist, where they reportedly drank human blood for spiritual empowerment.
“When Oyeleke got back to the UK six weeks later, a car hit him and he died. Mummy shouted that Daddy sacrificed him,” Kemi stated. According to her, the other sibling contracted HIV from the alleged ritual experience.
In one of her most intimate disclosures, Kemi shared that her first son, whom she had sent to Nigeria for a vacation while she was in the United States, came back unable to speak and was subsequently diagnosed with autism. She alleged that her father and his wife, Ronke, had used juju on him.
“Daddy was helping other people’s children to get jobs but never did anything for us,” she said, expressing years of pent-up frustration and pain.
The unexpected disclosures have generated a range of reactions online, as many individuals relate to Kemi’s distress.
