Popular Yoruba film actress Oluwayemisi Adenekan, best known by her stage as Iya Tinko, has spoken candidly about the difficult conditions that caused her two prior marriages to fail in an interview with Feelrightnews TV.
Adenekan revealed that her first husband had a fundamental issue with her chosen career path in the movie industry, and ultimately asked her to make a choice between him and her film-making passion.
“The first husband that I married did not agree with my career choice. My husband told me to choose between him and film making, that’s why I broke up with him,” the actress stated bluntly.
Faced with this ultimatum, Adenekan made the difficult decision to prioritize her thriving acting career, even if it meant sacrificing her marital union. This choice, while undoubtedly challenging, highlights the dedication and determination that have propelled the actress to success in the competitive world of Nollywood.
However, Adenekan’s troubles did not end with the dissolution of her first marriage. Undeterred, she decided to give love another chance and entered into a second marriage. Sadly, this new relationship proved to be even more tumultuous than the first.
“My second husband was even worse because he beat me every day, and he would come to the movie location to beat me up in the presence of my colleagues, and when it was getting too much, I broke up with him too,” Adenekan revealed, her voice tinged with a sense of anguish and regret.
