A throwback tweet of popular Nigerian singer Asake has resurfaced online and by extension gets many people talking on the need to never give up in life rather they should keep on grinding and working smart.
In the old tweet of about 5years ago, tweeted in the year 2019, Asake who is yet to break into prominence in the Nigerian music industry was seen begging his colleague Fireboy DML to follow him back on Twitter now X.
As of the year 2019, Fireboy is already gaining prominence in the Nigerian music industry and also was signed to singer Olamide’s record label known as YBNL.
However, singer Asake who is already looking for ways to reach Olamide decide to reach out to Oleamide’s signee Fireboy DML, begging him to follow him back so they can have conversations with each other.
However, as of the moment of filling this content, Olamide further signed Asake to his record label in the year 2022, and by extension has 3 hit albums to his name under the record label, namely Mr Money With the Vibe released in 2022, Work of Art released in 2023 and Lungu Boy released in 2024.
Moving on, Asake has joined the list of a few Nigerian artistes (Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Rema) that have shut down the 20K capacity O2 arena. He is on the list of Nigerian artistes that have billions of streams on Spotify.
Asake born Ahmed Ololade has also shutdown various top music venues in the United States of America and European countries as a result of his album’s massive success.
In the the March 15th 2019 tweet, Fireboy DML wrote; @fireboydml kindly follow back G.
However, as of December 2024 when the tweet resurfaced, Asake has turned to one of the most sought after artistes in Nigeria, Africa and all over the world and he is worth billions of naira.
While sharing the tweet, a famous Twitter influencer known as Asiwaju Lerry wrote; “To YOU seeing this, never stop grinding. A lot can change in a few years.”
