Spotify, the popular streaming platform, has reportedly highlighted the monthly earnings of African artistes, with Nigerian artists dominating the top 10 African acts.

Spotify, a Swedish audio streaming and media service provider is well known for its access to free music, curated playlists, artists, and podcasts you love.

Spotify has reported that Nigerian artists earned over ₦25 billion in royalties from the platform in 2023, doubling the amount from 2022 and marking a 2,500% increase since 2017.

Additionally, the popularity of Nigerian music genres like Highlife, Igbo Pop, and Fuji has surged, with listenership increasing by 224%, 303%, and 187% respectively over the past year.

This growth underscores the expanding global reach and influence of Nigerian music.

However, a popular page on X identified as “Africa Facts Zone” has listed the top monthly earners among African artistes on Spotify. The post reads;
