A Nigerian nurse who was criticized for saying Lagos smells has started receiving congratulatory messages online as she secures an international job and leaves Nigeria.
Recall that some weeks back, a nurse identified @nurse_ugbede on the popular microblogging platform X formerly called Twitter received maximum dragging online for saying that Lagos and its people smell a lot stressing that she is really tired of Lagos and its environment.
She wrote; “This Lagos is a smelly city. People smell, the streets smell, and the gutters smell, the water smells, everything is smelly, I’m tired!”
After she got criticized for speaking up herself, an X user identifed as Cross who works in a foreign country said that his boss is willing to help her get a job in case she lost her job following the development
Cross tweeted; “Hi @nurse_ugbede, trust you are having a beautiful morning. So one of my Oga asked me to reach out to you. Just in case anything happens to your job, and you are willing to work in another country, kindly notify. Will share an email address you can forward your CV to too.”
Reacting, Nurse Ugbede says that she has finally got the international job and has left Nigeria. She recalled that last year, she was homeless and squating with a friend in Lagos. She noted that she even loaned money to raise rent.
In her words; “I got the job guys Just remembered that by this time last year, I was homeless, in Lagos! Squatting with friend and loaning money to raise rent. One year later, got my big girl job and big girl pay. I wondered when it would happen, but when it’s your turn, God will part the ocean !!!.”
