Nnewi was engulfed in grief on Friday as the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, former representative of Anambra South, was laid to rest in a solemn ceremony that deeply moved the community.
The atmosphere was heavy with sorrow as his final journey commenced at his country home in Umuanuka, Otolo Nnewi, within the Nnewi North Local Government Area.
His remains arrived at the family residence, evoking heartfelt emotions from those present to pay their last respects. The procession then moved to St. Peter Clever Parish, Umuanuka, for a funeral mass, where friends, family, and well-wishers gathered to honor a man whose contributions left a lasting legacy in the region.
As Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s body arrived at his expansive compound in Nnewi, a wave of anguish rippled through the crowd, leaving many overcome with emotion.

Among the distinguished guests were prominent politicians and public figures, including Governor Chukwuma Soludo, former governor Peter Obi, former senator Uche Ekwunife, and several of Ubah’s fellow senators, all gathered to honor a man who left an indelible mark on Anambra State and Nigeria.
Igbo billionaire icons Obi Cubana, E-Money, and Cubana Chief Priest also attended in solidarity, their presence a testament to Ubah’s lasting influence and the high regard he commanded among.
