Becky Enenche, the wife of popular Nigerian preacher Pastor Paul Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has stirred conversations online with her recent statement about the importance of tithing.
In a video from a church service, she emphasized that failing to pay one’s tithe could result in setbacks, claiming that such negligence could cause individuals to “return back to square one.”
While addressing the congregation, Dr Enenche likened failing to pay tithes, giving 10 percent of one’s income to the church as a form of worship and obedience to God, to pressing a delete button on one’s spiritual progress.
She used a simple analogy, comparing it to losing unsaved work on a computer. Dr. Enenche stressed the importance of consistent tithing, calling it an act of giving back God’s share.
She said, “Paying your tithe, paying your tithe, returning God’s portion must be done consistently. Every time you miss your tithe, you go back to square one. The ones you did before become nullified. It’s like you pressed a delete button, gbam. And all the work you did before is gone.”
“Have you ever been typing and somebody entered the room or something mistakenly? You have typed enough text. The content of what you’ve typed is sufficient and you are not saving as you were typing and suddenly you press delete. You can imagine how that feels. Now what more of such a thing as your tithe.”
