Actress Kemi Afolabi Adesipe has appealed to Nigerians to stop trolling her colleague and friend Mercy Aigbe after her house was destroyed in a fire.
In an emotional live video shared on Instagram on Thursday evening, Kemi Afolabi struggled to hold back tears while pleading for support for Mercy, emphasizing the immense loss her friend has suffered.
She urged netizens to be mindful of their words, reminding them that everyone has a breaking point, no matter how strong they may appear. In part, she said:
“Please guys, I am begging on behalf of my friend Mercy, she has been supportive. She did not send me to do this, but I feel so bad that she has to go through this.
“If you know anyone trolling Mercy Aigbe, please tell them to stop.
“We are all human, and nobody is perfect. Can you stop trolling her, please? I am begging.”
The actress also expressed disbelief that some people could still troll Mercy Aigbe despite the devastating incident, calling it “unfair” and deeply insensitive.
In her words; ‘Please I am begging on behalf of my friend, Mercy. She is going through a lot right now with her house that just got burnt. Stop trolling her. It’s not easy at all’
