Nigerian activist and outspoken advocate Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as Verydarkman (VDM), has issued a bold challenge to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), calling on them to prove their credibility.
VDM demanded the release of a mugshot of former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello if the agency indeed has him in custody.
This follows a statement by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, who confirmed Bello’s arrest on serious charges, including money laundering, abuse of public trust, and the alleged misappropriation of N80.2 billion.
Speculation intensified when reports emerged that Kogi’s current Governor, Usman Ododo, personally escorted Yahaya Bello to Abuja and facilitated his handover to the EFCC.
As the drama unfolds, Verydarkman (VDM) released a scathing video, dismantling the notion that Bello’s arrest was a victory for justice.
Citing a reliable source, VDM alleged that prior to his arrest, Bello visited the EFCC headquarters with a staggering ₦10 billion bribe, reportedly aimed at influencing key officials.
The activist suggested that the entire arrest might be a staged spectacle, carefully orchestrated to mislead the public.
Unapologetic and unwavering, Verydarkman challenged the EFCC to uphold their usual practice by releasing Yahaya Bello’s mugshot for public viewing.
He emphasized that the EFCC has routinely shared mugshots of other accused individuals on their official platforms, questioning why a high-profile figure like Bello should be treated any differently.
