The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi have taken to social media to celebrate popular Nigerian singer Tems after winning an award at the 2025 Grammys.
Recall that in a previous post, Hitgist reported that the highly anticipated 2025 Grammy Award was held on Sunday, January 2nd 2025 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, United States of America (USA), despite the recent wildfires that have devastated parts of the city.
However, popular Nigerian singer Tems becomes the winner for the Best African Music Performance. Tems wins the Grammy Award for the second time as her song “Love Me Jeje” beats tough contenders including Chris Brown’s Sensational featuring Davido & Lojay, Yemi Alade’s Tomorrow, Burna Boy’s Higher as well as Asake’s MMS featuring Wizkid.
Taking to his official page on X today, January 3rd 2025, president Bola Ahmed Tinubu congratulated Tems for the Best African Music Performance Award at the Grammys. The pressident stressed that he is proud of her achievement.
The president went further to congratulate other Nigerian artistes who were nominated for the Grammy 2025 Awards.
Tinubu wrote; “Congratulations to @temsbaby on winning the Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance, “Love me jeje”. I am proud of her accomplishments and those of Nigerian origin who were nominated for the Grammy awards. Their achievements continue to inspire all Nigerians. Congratulations!.”

Also, Peter Obi congratulated Tems after winning an award at the 2025 Grammys. He expresses utmost joy and further went ahead to congratulate other artistes that were nominated. He showered encomium on the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Peter Obi wrote; “I am ever elated by the huge success Nigerian youths are making in various fields, especially in the entertainment sector. I like therefore to extend my hearty congratulations to our Nigerian Afrobeats star, Tems @temsbaby , who just secured her second Grammy Award with her win in the Best African Music Performance category. I also rejoice with Nigeria’s entertainment industry and other Nigerian artists who were nominated for different awards in their respective categories.
