Nigerian actor Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, popularly known as Kanayo O. Kanayo has sparked reactions over his entrance to movie premiere, ‘Break of Dawn’, directed by Umanu Elijah.
The premiere, which held on Thursday at Lagos, became viral sensation online when a video captured the moment Kanayo O. Kanayo arrived at the event in an elaborate black outfit, reminiscent of an occult figure.
The actor, who is well known for performing rituals in movies, was accompanied by some dwarfs who were carrying a calabash of fire and palm leaves in their mouths. A lady, who wore red wrappers tied below her armpits was also seen carrying a stick of fire.
Other members of his entourage, clad in black outfits and masks, followed Kanayo O. Kanayo closely behind.
The movie, Break of Dawn, produced by Ereyitomi and Princess Eme, is set to hit cinemas nationwide before the end of the year.
The film tells the story of Jade, the daughter of a wealthy and influential politician. Jade leads a dangerous double life, drugging and robbing her clients under the guise of being a prostitute
The movie boasts a star-studded cast including Stan Nze, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Efe Irele, Jide Kene, Mike Ezuruonye, Debby Felix, Segun Arinze, and Moet Abebe.
However, the actor’s dramatic entrance to the premiere stirred reactions from netizens who noted how he was embracing his calling and replacing socialite, Pretty Mike.
