Tems, a Nigerian international sensation, is one of Africa’s most successful musical exports, having won many awards for her songs.

The Grammy winner has released a music video for her single ‘Burning’, which appears on her recently released debut album ‘Born In the Wild’.

The music video, which was scheduled to be released on August 5, 2024, was postponed owing to widespread protests that began on August 1st in response to the escalating economic hardship and cost of living crises caused by President Bola Tinubu’s reforms.

Protesters came to the streets in various states to demand that the PMS and power subsidy removals be reversed, as well as that the government cut governance costs.

The video was shot on New York’s streets, with Tems singing while wandering through what appears to be parts of Times Square.

‘Burning’ is the third single from the 18-track album, following ‘Me & U’ and ‘Love Me Jeje’, which used lines from the famous Seyi Sodimu and Shaffy Bello song of the same name.

Tems has embarked on a globe tour since the release of her debut album, where she has treated listeners to her hit tracks like as ‘Free Mind’ and ‘Higher,’ both of which have achieved enormous commercial success.

Tems’ single ‘Me & U’ won Best Gospel/Inspirational at the 2024 BET Awards, adding to her previous three victories.
