Nigerian clergyman Apostle Johnson Suleman has reacted to the public apology from actress Halima Abubakar.

Hours ago, Halima had backed down on her issue with the famous clergymen as she issued a heartfelt apology. She apologized to Apostle Suleman for defaming him and causing various harm to his ministry and family.

The actress acknowledged every falsehood she made against the cleric, admitted false allegations and sought his forgiveness. She also expressed deep regrets for tarnishing his image hoping her letter could repair the damage to an extent.

Taking to the micro-blogging platform Twitter now known as X, Apostle Suleman told people to stop calling his phone as he noted how forgiveness isn’t memory loss. He stated that he was maintaining the status quo.

“You all stop calling my phone.
Forgiveness is not memory loss!
Status quo maintained!
AJS”.

The drama between Halima Abubakar and Apostle Johnson Suleman started in 2022. For three months, Halima opened up on her affair with Apostle Suleman, revealing how the clergyman reached out to her and how their affair began.

The then-ailing actress insisted that she never knew Suleman was married as he told her that he was separated, and she pleaded with him countless times to reconcile with his wife, but he remained adamant.

Halima claimed that Apostle Suleman proposed to her seven times but she rejected his proposal. Unbothered by the rejection, he involved the actress’s parents in their affair and had a wedding introduction with her.

Halima later became bedridden following her altercation with him. Her family also took to social media to call out the clergyman to stay away from her.

However, many alleged that the actress was battling an autoimmune disease, which she debunked by sharing her medical report which was shoved aside as many claimed that the report doesn’t prove anything.

Following her allegations, Apostle Suleman had filed a suit against her, demanding N1 billion as damages. The High Court had ordered her to pay him N10m as damages, and had restrained the movie star from further publishing defamatory statements against him and was to retract her statement against the clergyman on her Instagram page.
