Popular Nigerian influencer and self-proclaimed financial expert, Geh Geh, has sparked conversations online with his review of Davido’s latest album, 5ive, claiming it falls short of expectations.
Davido recently released his fifth studio album, which has generated mixed reactions from fans and critics alike. Sharing his thoughts, Geh Geh described the project as “mid,” explaining that it didn’t meet the hype surrounding its release.
According to him, one of the major issues with 5ive is the inclusion of unnecessary collaborations—particularly with American singer Chris Brown. Geh Geh argued that many Nigerian listeners aren’t interested in such international features and would have appreciated the platform being used to spotlight rising local talents instead.
In addition to his critique of the guest features, Geh Geh pointed out that Davido’s music style hasn’t evolved. He suggested that the singer’s sound and production haven’t significantly changed since the early days of his career.
“Davido is not evolving; you no dey change, your brand is the same. E just be like say since the days of Dami Duro nothing really change about Davido. Even the sound no dey evolve,” he said in part.
