Social media activist and critics Martins Otse Vincent, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM) has dragged the living daylight out of Super Eagles players over recent loss to Rwanda in the last match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The Amavubi of Rwanda stunned the Super Eagles with two second half goals to grab the maximum points at the Godswil Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Monday evening.
Nigerian coach, Augustine Eguavoen made several changes to the squad, leaving out Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Wilfred Ndidi, and Stanley Nwabali from the starting lineup.
Rwanda struck twice in quick succession, with Aimable Mutinzi scoring in the 72nd minute and Imanishimwe Nshuti adding another in the 75th, securing a historic victory for the visitors.
Despite the loss, the Super Eagles finished at the top of the group with 11 points, followed by Benin Republic with eight points. Rwanda also had eight points but narrowly missed out on qualification for the Nations Cup as Gernot Rohr’s side advanced on goal difference.
Nigerians expressed their disappointment following another poor performance by the Super Eagles, especially after their struggles in the 1-1 draw against Benin Republic just days earlier on Thursday.
VeryDarkman weighed in on the matter, saying that the Super Eagles can’t win any trophy for Nigeria. He said, “Let’s call a spade a spade
super eagles win games by mere luck and no be say na curse but this super eagles can’t win us any trophies.”
